Ellen Redington, 14, will run her first Jr. Iditarod in 2021. Ellen, daughter of past Jr. mushers, Julia Flodin Redington and Ray Redington, has been around dogs all her life. She says she is the 4th generation of Redingtons to mush. Her grandfather, Joe Redington, Sr. was one of the founders of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race and her grandfather, Raymie and father, Ray, have run the Jr. Iditarod. She ran the Wilow Jr. 100 last spring. A freshman at Redington High School, Ellen ran cross country and played volley ball in past years but this year is concentrating on mushing. He says her hobbies are art and hunting. She plans to go to college after graduation and says she will continue mushing. Ellen enjoys traveling and seeing the world and says she was lucky enough to visit Peru in 2019.
