Biography
Ellen Redington, 15, will run her second Jr. Iditarod in 2021. Ellen, daughter of past Jr. mushers, Julia Flodin Redington and Ray Redington, has been around dogs all her life. She says she is the 4th generation of Redingtons to mush. Her great grandfather, Joe Redington, Sr. was one of the founders of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race and her father and mother, Ray and Julia, have run the Jr. Iditarod. Ellen ran the Willow Jr. 100 in 2020 and 2021. A sophmore at Redington High School, Ellen participates in Educators Rising and Art Club. She plans to go to college after graduation and is not sure if she will continue mushing.
