Cassidy MeyerHometown: Fairbanks, Alaska
Cassidy Meyer, 17, says s he was born into mushing. Her family moved to Alaska to mush dogs so she has been out camping and mushing all her life. Her family started out with a recreational team until they ran the first race in 2017. Some of their dogs have been raised right in their kennel. Cassidy, a junior at West Valley High School in Fairbanks, is a competitive rock climber, an aspiring writer and she says, of course, a musher. She has run the Jr. Iditarod twice, in 2019 and 2020. She isn’t sure what she will do after high school but says she will continue mushing.
