Dakota Schlosser, 17, says he started mushing when he was five. He attended Su Valley High School last but plans on homeschooling for his senior year. He ran the Jr. Iditarod last year, finishing in fourth place and getting the award for the top placing rookie. He participates in Talkeetna Build-a-Plane at school and enjoys building hot rods and dog sleds. He’s not sure what he’ll do after high school, but says he will continue mushing.
