Biography
Alex Westlake, 17, has lived in Kozebue all his life and has also been mushing all his life. He says he started mushing because his dad is a musher. A junior at Kotzebue High School, Alex participates in wrestling and is a member of the National Honor Society. He also enjoys weight training. After high school, Alex plans to get his pilot’s license and will attend college. He says he will not continue mushing.
