Biography
McKenzie Brooks, 16, says she started mushing with Siberians and worked her way from sprint mushing to distance mushing. “The main reason I continued mushing was because I became addicted to the sport and the dogs.” A 10th grade student at West Valley High School, McKenzie is a HAM radio operator and she enjoys canoeing, hiking, cross country running, camping and other fun outdoor activities. She plans to go to college and study to become a paramedic/firefighter. She says hopefully she’ll be able to continue mid-distance and long distance mushing.
