Pete DeMers, 14, started mushing with his dad in an infant car seat on a sled. He is a third generation dog musher and says a portion of his team is the 8th generation in their dog yard. This will be his first Jr. Iditarod but he has run spring races in Two Rivers ad Nenana. A freshman at Tri Valley High School, Pete participates in basketball and ski club. Outside of school, he enjoys snow machining and being with his dogs. Right now, he has no idea what he’ll do when he finishes high school or whether he will continue mushing.
