Ida, 15, was born and raised in Sweden. She started mushing at the age of five. She was a handler for her dad on the Yukon Quest in 2016, 2018 and will be a handler again in 2020. “I love the connection you get between you and the dogs. And to be out in nature with your best friends is the best in the world. My dream is to run the Yukon Quest in 2023.” Her first race was the 2019 Jr. Iditarod in which she placed fourth. She plans to run the Jr. Iditarod and another race in January of 2020. She is in the ninth grade at Tornaby and lists her hobbies as hunting, fishing and being outdoors. When she finishes high school she says she might join the family business of sled dog tours. Whatever she ends up doing, she does plan to continue mushing.
