Biography

Ashley, 14, says she watched Season of the Sled Dog when she was six and “thereafter aspired to become a dog musher.” She got her first dogs when she was nine and trained them. She’s been mushing ever since. This will be her first Jr. Iditarod. She also plans to run the Jr. Willow 100 and the Tustumena 100. Ashley attends Seward Middle School and is in the eighth grade. She participates in cross country and track and also enjoys sewing, reading writing and running. She plans to go to college and to run the Iditarod. She says “yes” she will continue mushing.
