Biography

Emily Krol, 17, began mushing in 2009 and ran her first Jr. Iditarod last year. Before the 2011 Jr. Iditarod, she plans to run the Alaska Excursion 120, the Nome Sign 40 and some other races. She says, “My life has always involved animals, but never in a million years did I think I’d be a musher. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania. I go back to the east coast every year to visit family.? A senior at Wasilla High School, Emily is in the National Honor Society and participates in student government. Her hobbies include traveling, church activities and volunteering. She plans to go to college after high school graduation and does plan to continue mushing.
