Ellen King

Bib Number: 23
Hometown: Denali, Alaska

Biography

Ellen, 15, daughter of current Iditarod champion, Jeff King, says she has been mushing since “I could stand up.” This will be her second Jr. Iditarod. She follows her two older sisters, Cali and Tessa, who also ran the Jr. Iditarod. Ellen is an ninth grade student at Tri-Valley and participates in dance, volleyball, basketball, track and soccer. When asked about other hobies besides mushing, she writes “DANCE” in great big capital letters. She plans to continue mushing for a little while and says that after high school there will be “more school.” Ellen says, “I love my family & friends. All of my family mushes or has mushed.”
