Biography
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Dustin Regar came to Alaska in August of this year with one dream in mind, DOG MUSHING! Now at the age of 17, he has left his life in Pennsylvania on hold to pursue a goal of running the Junior Iditarod. With generous support from his Uncle and Aunt, Richard and Linda Horstmann and friends, Dustin is readily training 18 dogs in preparation for the race. He is currently living with his Uncle Richard and Aunt Linda in Montana Creek, AK. Now, Dustin hadn’t just decided to move to Alaska, the so called giant ice cube by all his friends in PA, out of the blue, no he has come to Alaska on numerous occasions in the past and has fallen in love with the state because it fits his outdoor lifestyle perfectly. He is a junior at Susitna Valley High School and hopes to go into business after graduation. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, fishing, and just about all other outdoor events.
