Johanna BadalichHometown: Anchorage, Alaska
Johanna Badalich, 16, started mushing when she was eight, when her parents bought her a kick sled because of her fascination with the Nome Serum Run. She ran the Jr. Iditarod last year. A junior at Service High School in Anchorage, Johanna participates in AP Seminar, AP chemistry, AP phychology and Spanish. When not in school she enjoys reading, Sudoku, watching educational videos, cooking and working outside. After high school she wants to get a military scholarship to become a clinical psychologist and spend a few years traveling wherever PCS sends me. After I’m finished with my service, I plan to return to Alaska and start my own dog yard, and create a clinic where kids can work as handlers as a combination of work and animal therapy.
