Emily Krol

Wasilla, AK, USA

Emily is 16. She said she began mushing when her aunt Maggie and Uncle Hoppy bought her a dog mushing ride with Ryan Redington. She says, “I’ve moved over 20 times. I moved to Alaska in March of 2007 with no intent to stay. After going on a dog sled ride with Ryan Redington in April, I became hooked on dog mushing and begged mom to stay. We are staying now and I’ve been mushing for two years.” Last year Emily ran the Aurora Scholarhip Race and the Chugiak Fun Run. A junior at Wasilla High School, she participates in National Honor Society, student government and photography. She says her hobbies besides mushing are traveling, photography and the outdoors. She plans to go to college and then to vet school and says, YES, she will continue mushing!
